Have you wondered how most celebrities seem to defy the natural signs of aging? They seem to get younger and younger as they age. One of the main contributors is Botox! Major surgical procedure is not the only feasible method to achieve their youthful looking appearance. In fact, you can be forever young looking by trying out Botox procedure.
What exactly is Botox and why do people are very much drawn to it? Botox is a commercial trade label for botulinum toxin A. Botulinum toxin A is a type of protein, a neurotoxin produced by Clostridium botulinum. Prior to the discovery of its medical benefits, this neurotoxin was more commonly associated with Botulism. Botulism is a type of food poisoning caused by eating food containing toxins produced by Clostridium botulinum.
Recent medical advances were able to harness this neurotoxin and use it for beneficial purposes. It is a known medical fact that the most critical sympton of Botulism is paralysis which at times can be fatal. Paralysis occurs once toxins are attached to nerve endings. Once attached to nerve endings, a neurotransmitter known as acetylcholine is prevented from being released. This nuerotransmitter is mainly responsible for muscle contractions. With it being halted, contraction is subsequently prevented thereby causing muscles to relax.
Simply put, Botulinum toxins work by blocking signals that dictate muscles to contract. Now how will this impact you when you undergo Botox injection? The answer is quite simple. Wrinkles manifest in certain areas of, say, your facial muscle. Upon injection of required dosage of Botox, Botulinum toxins freeze only the specific target area. Hence, muscles in target area is relaxed and subsequently performs little or no movement at all. The mechanism is really simple: any area of the body that cannot be move cannot wrinkle.
Among the many medical uses of Botox include blepharospasm treatment, cervical dystonia, and strabismus. These type of medical conditions are essentially related to involuntary muscle contraction. After a patient diagnosed with any of these conditions is injected with Botox, muscle spasms and contractions are systematically reduced. Keep in midn though that Botox treatment only last for up to 10 months. After which, a patient can choose to perform the same Botox injection to again treat his or her condition. Another notable advantage of Botox injection is that it prevents the spread of muscle spasm to other region of the body.
In areas of cosmetic surgery, Botox is also widely used to treat severe frown lines. This type of cosmetic procedure is approved for treatment of adult patients.
Recent medical studies are exploring Botox potentials in treating spasmodic dysphonia. Dysphonia is a type of neurological disorder that mainly affects muscles located in the larynx. Upon application, medical investigations showed that the muscles responds quite well to Botox treatment. Other research studies are verifying its full impact in treating muscle conditions such as writer’s cramp and facial spasms.
The benefits of Botox injection are seen as among the most popular medical wonders of recent years. Despite this, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have issued statements warning people to administer Botox only when they are licensed to do so.
Botox is very effective. It can solve a lot of problems, some people do not even realize. Most people only know that Botox can remove wrinkles and make your muscles go numb but Botox is also known to prevent your sweat glands from producing any sweat. Thus, when injected in the arm pit area, it prevents form any sweating. A-list Hollywood celebrities swear by these, and get Botox injections in their arm pits a couple of days before Awards season, so they look and feel (and smell) fresh while they walk the red carpets in the Oscars, Golden Globes, and in other hot events. Botox can also be used for feet, pals, and faces that sweat too much.
Another thing Botox is good for is lifting the breasts. Although this only works for smaller breasted women, Botox has been know to help lift the bust when injected right under the boobs. This helps women with saggy breasts solve their problem without undergoing drastic medical operations. Although the use of Botox for this purpose has not yet been approved in the United States of America, doctors in Europe and even nearby Canada have been doing this for a while now; and have been doing it with great effect.
Some doctors also choose to treat migraine headaches with Botox. A small amount of Botox behind the neck, on the forehead, or the eye brow area, has been known to relieve people whoa re suffering from migraines. Although this is not advised or used for people who do not experience migraine headaches occasionally; it has given relief to those who really suffer from this condition.
Botox has also been known to pout a person’s lips, and even turn the corners of the mouth upwards, giving people a happier, and a more positive, less intimidating look. There are a hundred other uses for Botox that doctors are still trying to perfect, but this glorious product has been known to be used to sculpt the face, turn up the nose, relaxed dimpled chins, remove bands in the neck, decrease the size of enlarged prostates, help treat eye twitching, involuntary muscle spasms, overly active bladders, painful lower backs, and even help people with the symptoms linked to cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis.
So you see, Botox parties could actually end up giving you a totally different look; or just shed off a couple of years on the face. The good news is, you actually decide how drastic your change will be. You simply instruct the doctor about what it is that you like; and he just does it. Another good thing about these parties: your friends are there to help you decide. Sometimes, you can feel overwhelmed in a doctor’s office that you get swayed into certain decisions. However, with a light party atmosphere, and all your friends around, you can make a decision you will be happy with, at least for the next three months or so.
Everybody who is in tune with the world of celebrities knows about Botox. It seems like everybody knows somebody who has had Botox injections. it is not difficult to understand why. Botox seems to be the best quick fix for wrinkles and other derma conditions.
Botox is actually a kind of toxin that relaxes muscles. It numbs the muscles so that the wrinkles do not show; and even the sweat glands do not produce sweat. Is it safe? Yes it is, as long as you get it from a reputable source who knows just how much or how little to give you. Is it effective? Yes it is very effective. The effect is visible almost instantly. People just need small doses of Botox, and leave feeling refreshed and looking younger.
It is a matter of where you get your Botox, who gives it to you, and how it is given to you. One trend that seems to answer all of this is the Botox party. Botox parties are actually much like the Tupperware parties of this decade. Botox parties happen when a group of friends, usually purely female, gather around in one house or venue. They then have a lot of sumptuous food, good music, and exchange chit chats, all while waiting for their turn to get Botox on their and other body parts. This makes the whole experience more enjoyable and less intimidating as compared with going to a clinic all alone. And there is not much of a difference because real doctors administer the Botox in these parties. Truly, there is nothing to lose and so much more to gain with Botox parties.
This phenomenon has definitely improved the sales of Botox because these parties have the power to turn skeptics into believers. Again, we are reminded that peer pressure (even though it comes in the form of aged women) is still one of the most effective marketing strategies. And this also tells us a lot of things. But one of the biggest realizations we get from these Botox parties is the fact that Botox is not something to be ashamed of. Rather, it is one that is supposed to be shared and enjoyed with the ones closest to you.
Gone are the days when people would deny ever having anything done. Today’s woman accepts the fact that only science can help her look as good as she wants to; and this is not something to be ashamed of. Unlike in the past where procedures were kept hush hush and were widely gossiped about; in today’s society Botox parties are as common as any other party. And it is pretty obvious why this is the case.
